Metaworld Congress 2025 was much more than a technology event. Over two incredible days, the event brought together brilliant minds, innovative companies and transformative projects that showcase the power of technology when applied with purpose. It was a space where we not only talked about innovation, but lived, shared and debated about how we can build a more just, accessible and humane future through technology.
In this environment, artificial intelligence, extended reality (XR), metaverse, generative models and accessibility technologies were not just points of the day. Real cases and critical approaches were addressed, always with the clear intention of generating a positive impact on society.
What is the Metaworld Congress?
The Metaworld Congress is a must-attend event for those looking to keep abreast of the main trends in immersive technology, metaverse, artificial intelligence and Web3. Its multidisciplinary approach makes it an ideal meeting point for startups, large technology companies, research centres, educational institutions and professionals from the digital world.
The 2025 edition stood out for putting values such as ethics, diversity, accessibility and wellbeing at the centre. At a time when technology is advancing faster than ever, this congress has established itself as a place to stop and think about how, for what and for whom we innovate.
This year’s most relevant topics included:
- Ethics and regulation in the development of artificial intelligence.
- Augmented and virtual reality applied to health and education
- Inclusion and diversity in technological environments
- Human creativity versus mass automation
- User-centred immersive experience design

Ubicuity’s proposition: immersive technology with purpose
At Ubicuity we had the opportunity to present our extended reality solutions in an ideal environment. One where innovation goes hand in hand with real impact. Our objective was clear: to show how physical spaces can be transformed into meaningful immersive experiences, capable of awakening emotions, facilitating learning and promoting human connection.
Our proposal was experienced first-hand by those who came to our experiences. Hearing comments such as ‘this excites’, ‘this connects’ or ‘this really teaches’ reaffirms our mission to make virtual and augmented reality meaningful tools, applicable to health, professional training, culture or scientific dissemination.
AI and neuroscience: our participation in the panel discussion
One of the most inspiring moments of the event was our participation in the round table on artificial intelligence applied to neuroscience. Víctor Manuel Morán Rodríguez, CEO of Ubicuity, shared the stage with leading figures in the sector, such as Estefanía Estévez Priego, and under the moderation of Patricia Heredia Gil, who was later awarded at the Open Awards 2025 for her work on the VALPAT STEAM project.
During the talk, topics addressed included:
- How AI models can improve the understanding of the human brain.
- The role of extended reality in neurological therapies
- The ethical limits of using brain and cognitive data.
It was an enriching discussion that made it clear that the intersection between technology and cognitive data is a critical issue.a intersección entre tecnología y ciencia es también un espacio para la responsabilidad.
Inspiring presentations and technology with social impact
Metaworld Congress 2025 was also a stage where inspiring projects and visions were presented. We were particularly impressed by three speeches that approached technology from a critical and transformative perspective:
- Nerea Luis, an expert in computational innovation, posed a profound reflection on the risks, biases and opportunities of current generative models. Her ability to combine technical analysis with a social perspective was highly applauded.
- Dr. Isabel Guillén Vicente and Mario Abril Serván presented how Clínica CEMTRO is using robotic surgery and virtual rehabilitation to improve patient recovery, showing real cases and measurable results.
- Paola García, an engineer specialising in genomic medicine, gave a much-needed and revealing presentation on invisible neurodivergence in technological environments. Her intervention opened a necessary debate on how to build more inclusive spaces also in the digital sphere.
Projects that inspire: technology that changes lives
One of the initiatives that touched us most was Ayúdame3D, led by Guillermo Gauna-Vivas. Their project Trésdesis demonstrates how 3D printing can become a tool with a direct impact, by creating personalised prostheses that are given free of charge to people in vulnerable situations. They were also in charge of designing the trophies for the event, a detail that unites design, accessibility and social awareness.
This type of proposal reminds us that the most transformative technology is the one that does not forget anyone.
New technological trends that will shape the future
During the congress, several key trends were identified that are redefining the present and future of technology:
- Collaborative virtual spaces: increasingly used in training, remote work and research.
- Digital twins: applied to the simulation of medical or industrial environments for predictive analytics.
- Responsible generative AI: with a focus on transparency, traceability and copyright.
- Advanced haptic interaction: enhancing the experience in XR environments, especially in medical simulations.
These advances point to an increasingly seamless integration between the physical and digital worlds, where user experience is key.
Our vision: technology at the service of people
At Ubicuity, we believe that technology should improve lives. That’s why we strive to design XR solutions that are not only technically impressive, but also useful, accessible and transformative.
Metaworld Congress has been a platform to reaffirm that, in the face of mass automation, creativity, human ideas and empathy will remain our greatest strengths.
We feel more motivated than ever to keep pushing for technology that truly puts people at the centre. We leave Metaworld Congress 2025 with our heads full of ideas, new contacts that add up and the confidence that we are doing things right.
